Electronic Classroom

Latest Version Information

The latest version of Electronic Classroom for modems is 2.5.9H.

This version supports the simultaneous voice/data modems (like NetComm's SmartModem 288D) as well as many other types of locally available modems. Release 2.5.9H of Electronic Classroom fixes the bug which produced errors (with data = -491) when saving files. A multipoint reliability bug have been fixed, plus one which caused the tool palette on the Teacher's computer to cycle rapidly. It is now possible to print when switching to 'Prepare for Lesson' even if the Printer Port has been used for links previously. Switching out of 'Prepare for Lesson' will enable the Printer Port for linking again. You can now sort phone numbers and optionally startup with the Modem Port dialog already visible, ready for one click dialling.

This release also works with the new Netcomm Smart 288D modems which support voice and data simultaneously over the same telephone line. The only change is a new button in the Modem Port (or Printer Port) dialogs. Both parties need to have a Smart 288D model modem.

For use with the Internet, use Electronic Classroom version 3.0.

This version requires at least 10Mb of RAM and Apple's Open Transport software version 1.08 (or later) in order to connect and form lessons over the Internet. It will also requires an Open Transport compatible version of MacPPP unless you have a direct Internet connection.

The upgrade to version 3.0 costs $A100 from version 2 and $A200 from version 1.
